CMO Stack Setup Guide

Everything your team needs to install the plugin and start getting results from day one.

Prerequisite: The CMO Stack requires a paid Claude plan. Claude Pro ($20/mo) works for individuals. Claude Team ($25-30/seat/mo) is better for marketing teams who need shared projects.

Installation

How to Install

One download, one setup. Skills activate automatically whenever Claude detects a relevant task.

  1. Download the CMO Stack (one file, 40+ skills across 8 functions)
  2. Open Claude Desktop, click Customize (upper-left), then go to Skills
  3. Upload the zip file you just downloaded
  4. Done. Skills fire automatically when you work on a related task. No need to invoke them.

Every team member on your Claude plan does the same upload. The skills persist across all conversations and Cowork sessions.

Brand voice: The first time you use a content skill, Claude will ask for your brand guidelines. Paste them in (or attach a style guide) and it builds your voice profile automatically. Every skill downstream uses it.

What Your Team Can Do

Below is every function covered by The CMO Stack with ready-to-use prompts. Copy and paste these into Claude to get started. Hand each section to the relevant team lead.

🎨 Brand & Creative

What it does: Loads your brand voice into every output. Runs automatic guideline checks before anything ships.

Setup Prompt
"Here's our brand voice guide: [paste or attach]. Load this as my brand voice profile. Every piece of content you create from now on should follow these guidelines. Before outputting any customer-facing copy, run a brand review check."
Daily Use
"Review this landing page copy against our brand guidelines. Flag anything that doesn't match our voice, and suggest specific rewrites."

✍️ Content Marketing

What it does: Research, write, and repurpose content in one workflow. One article becomes 4+ assets automatically.

Research
"Research the keyword landscape around [your topic]. Give me the top 10 keywords by search volume, the top 5 competing articles, and 3 angles none of them are covering."
Write
"Write a 1,500-word SEO article on [topic] using angle #2 from the research. Use our brand voice. Include a meta description and 3 internal linking opportunities."
Repurpose
"Atomize this article into: a LinkedIn post, a 3-email nurture snippet, an X thread, and 3 social media quotes with hooks."

📈 Demand Gen & Growth

What it does: Skills chain together so context carries from lead magnet to landing page to email sequence.

Full Campaign
"Create a lead magnet for [target audience] about [topic]. Then build a landing page and 5-email nurture sequence. Use our brand voice. The CTA should drive toward a demo request."
CRO Review
"Audit this landing page for conversion rate optimization. Score each section, identify the top 3 friction points, and give me specific rewrites that would improve conversion."

🔍 SEO & Organic

What it does: Technical audits, keyword clusters, topical authority maps, and programmatic page generation.

Audit
"Run a technical SEO audit on [your domain]. Check: page speed indicators, meta tags, heading structure, internal linking, schema markup, and mobile responsiveness."
Keyword Strategy
"Build a topical authority map for [your core topic]. Group keywords into clusters, prioritize by search volume and competition, and recommend a 12-week content calendar."

🎯 Product Marketing

What it does: Competitive intel, positioning frameworks, and launch plans that brief every team at once.

Competitive Brief
"Generate a competitive brief on the top 5 players in [your category]. For each: positioning, pricing model, key differentiators, weaknesses, and their most recent strategic moves."
Launch Planning
"We're launching [product/feature] in 6 weeks. Build a launch strategy that includes: positioning, messaging framework, channel plan, timeline, and a one-page brief I can hand to every team lead."

📣 PR & Communications

What it does: Press releases, personalized media pitches, crisis comms, analyst briefing prep, PR measurement.

Press Release
"We just closed a $40M Series C led by [investor]. Draft a press release. Include quotes from our CEO and lead investor. Tone: confident but not boastful."
Media Pitches
"Write 3 personalized media pitches for this press release targeting: [Reporter 1] at [outlet], [Reporter 2] at [outlet], [Reporter 3] at [outlet]. Reference their recent coverage."
Crisis Comms
"We have a data incident affecting [X] customers. Draft: (1) an internal all-hands message, (2) a customer notification email, (3) a public statement for our website, (4) a media holding statement."

🔄 Customer Marketing & Lifecycle

What it does: Lifecycle emails, re-engagement, NPS playbooks, advocacy programs, referral mechanics, expansion campaigns.

NPS Playbook
"Our NPS just came back: 40 promoters, 25 passives, 10 detractors. Build a response playbook for each segment. Include: email templates, timing, escalation paths, and success metrics."
Lifecycle Sequence
"Design a 90-day onboarding email sequence for new customers. 8 emails total. Each should have a clear activation goal, and the sequence should drive toward first value realization within 14 days."
Re-engagement
"Build a win-back campaign for customers who haven't logged in for 30+ days. Include: a 3-email sequence, an in-app message, and a personalized outreach template for CSMs."

⚙️ Marketing Ops & Analytics

What it does: Attribution modeling, reporting frameworks, budget models, lead scoring, A/B test design.

Budget Model
"Build a zero-based budget model starting from our $12M ARR target. Work backward to required pipeline, then to spend by channel. Give me three scenarios: conservative, base, and aggressive."
Attribution
"Design an attribution model for our marketing stack. We use [tools]. Recommend: the right attribution methodology for our stage, what to track, how to set up reporting, and a dashboard wireframe."
A/B Test Design
"Design an A/B test for our pricing page. We think [hypothesis]. Specify: variants, sample size needed, duration, primary and secondary metrics, and statistical significance threshold."

Getting the Most Out of The CMO Stack

1. Start with Brand Voice

The first time you use a content or creative skill, Claude will prompt you for your brand guidelines. Paste your style guide, tone notes, or a few sample pieces of content. Claude builds a voice profile from that, and every skill downstream references it automatically. Consistent voice across content, emails, landing pages, and PR.

2. Chain Skills Together

The real power is in chaining. Ask Claude to "research, then write, then atomize" in a single session. Context carries forward, so the atomized LinkedIn post reflects the same keyword research that drove the original article.

3. Hand Prompts to Your Team

Copy the prompts above and drop them in a shared doc. Each function lead can start using their prompts immediately. No training needed.

4. Iterate, Don't Accept

First drafts are starting points. The best results come from asking Claude to sharpen specific sections: "Make the CTA more urgent" or "The competitive positioning is too soft on [competitor], add their recent pricing controversy."
